Molly-Mae Hague reveals endometriosis diagnosis after doctors ignored her symptoms

Molly-Mae Hague is set to have surgery following years of struggling with painful periods.

The Love Island star, 22, has shared with her fans that she has been diagnosed with endometriosis after being forced to seek out a private specialist after her health concerns were not taken seriously by her GP.

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb starts to grow in other places, such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes, according to the NHS website.

The blonde beauty - who is in a relationship with co-star Tommy Fury - explained that she will have to schedule in a keyhole surgery operation in hopes of stopping the intense pain she gets in her lower tummy and back, as well as severe period pains.

Molly - who is often open with her followers due to her life as a social media influencer - told of her diagnosis on her latest YouTube video that was released on Thursday.

She shared: "I actually have got to have an operation for something that I want to tell you guys about. It's kind of a good thing and it's kind of a bad thing.

"I've told you guys for so long now that I suffer with excruciating periods and so many of you guys were commenting on my videos telling me to check for endometriosis."

The reality TV personality then explained how she went to a specialist after her health woes, which led to her having to take time off work, were ignored by several doctors.

Explaining how she was taken seriously by the specialist, she went on: "Straight away they said 'You absolutely do have endometriosis, it's clear as day'. So I guess that's kind of a good thing because at least I know now what it is.

"It's not a good thing that I have endometriosis, because obviously it can affect fertility and loads of other things, and you can never really cure it."

Molly explained that the surgery is the next step but that after the operation there is a 40 per cent chance that her condition could return.

The social media savvy star's video comes just days after she uploaded footage where she flaunted all the designer birthday presents she received for her recent birthday.

The social media savvy beauty shared the update with her fans on her YouTube channel (mollymaehague/Instagram)

She posted an 18-minute video in which she showed off her luxury presents, including a £3,850 Van Cleef & Arpels bracelet from her boyfriend Tommy.

She said: "I'm obsessed with jewellery and there's been this one bracelet that for so, so long I've wanted to match the new watch I got with the green face.

"I do have a couple of Van Cleef bracelets already.

"I'm just so paranoid in this video about coming across as ungrateful. I didn't really thank Tommy enough for my bracelet which I am so so grateful for."
