Molly-Mae Hague on what happened as soon she left Love Island - and how she became a millionaire

Reality TV favourite Molly-Mae Hague has described what happened after she left Love Island and what it's like finding fame on the popular show.

The 22-year-old from Manchester joined the ITV2 dating contest as a 'bombshell' in 2019 and has gone on to become the most successful Islander in its six year history, bringing in big bucks with lucrative brand deals.

Molly-Mae was a social media influencer before her time on Love Island, but not in the same capacity as she is today.

The star, who models for Starbucks and fashion brands such as PrettyLittleThing and has her own beauty brand Filter by Molly-Mae, is now officially a millionaire according to the Mirror.

Molly-Mae and her man Tommy Fury came runners-up on Love Island and just lost out to winners Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea after winning the hearts of viewers with their love story.

But while she was in the famous villa the wheels were set in motion to make her a star - without her knowledge.

Molly-Mae was met off the plane by her manager Francesca Britton, who had been appointed by her family to look after her while she was in the villa.

"I was at the airport when you arrived back with Tommy," recalled Fran about the moment they met in a video shared on Molly-Mae's YouTube channel.

"I was with your mum, your dad, your family, your nan.

"Cameras were everywhere. I was obviously well out of the way and I was there waiting for her.

"Actually that's the very first time I met Molly.

"When she came off the plane her family were like 'this is Fran' and Molly was like 'oh okay.'"

And Molly-Mae explained: "Whilst I was in Love Island I basically set up an email account for my emails to flood into while I was in there.

"And when I came out I was going to appoint myself a manager but because things became so hectic whilst I was in there and my family just couldn't deal with the sheer amount of emails that were coming in, my family basically appointed Fran."

Fran added: "It was a difficult situation for me because I'd never met Molly before. I'm trying to help and give advice to a family of someone I've never met before.

"It was a bit like 'how much can I help without knowing what you would want and what your family are asking me to do?'

"When Molly came out there was no obligation for Molly to be my client, it was more a case of I fell into this role I never intended to be in.

"I wanted her to go and meet other management. I didn't want her to feel pressured."

But Molly-Mae says Fran and her family hit it off from the start and it was the beginning of a long-standing friendship.

"My mum was inviting Fran round for lasagne and shepherd's pie," she laughed.

"You basically became part of our family without me even knowing her."

Fran, who looks after Molly-Mae's brand collaborations and deals, jokes that she also acts as her 'counsellor, psychologist, chef and driver.'

Molly-Mae says the 'pinnacle' for her, after she emerged from Love Island, was finding herself in demand from her favourite fashion brands.

"I basically had this day at the Mayfair Hotel where pretty much every fast fashion brand that I had ever worked with came and said they wanted me to be their girl, their influencer and work with them and do a huge collection with them," she said.

"Maybe 10 brands came."

"And those 10 were originally 100 and we had to whittle them down to 10," added Fran.

"The demand was unbelievable.

"You were sat there like 'these people want me, these brands I've only ever dreamed of working for' and they were fighting about you."

Molly-Mae recalled: "There were brands offering me cars, money I can never dream of earning. That for me was a pinnacle moment.

"I was like 'is this what life's going to be like now?'

Molly-Mae became the first UK influencer Starbucks had ever paid paid to work for them.

But Fran says the 'real big break moment' is yet to come after Molly-Mae signed the 'biggest deal of her career' that she's been working on for 12 months.
