Molly-Mae Hague 'mum-shamed' after daughter Bambi says she wants to bite friends... as others jump to star's defence

Molly Mae Hague has been criticised for being “too soft” with her daughter Bambi after the two-year-old revealed she wanted to bite her nursery friends.

The former Love Island star, 26, filmed herself laughing in a new vlog posted to her YouTube channel when the youngster mentioned about wanting to sink her teeth into her classmates, joking that food such as croissants, pasta and pizza were the only things that should be bitten.

Viewers were quick to accuse Hague of being too soft with her parenting and failing to set firm boundaries.

Some users on TikTok, where clips of the vlog were re shared, branded Bambi’s behaviour “wild” and claimed Hague was not dealing with it appropriately.

One commented that she was “turning it into a game,” while another wrote: “Too soft especially since it keeps happening.” Others suggested she needed to use a calm but firm voice and introduce consequences to discourage the behaviour.

However, a number of parents defended Hague, praising her for leaving the clip in her video rather than editing it out. One wrote: “Parents can relate, all been there.” Another said: “She could have cut this out of the vlog and she didn’t.”

This is not the first time Hague has opened up about biting incidents. Last month she revealed her worries after Bambi had bitten two other children at nursery. At the time she admitted she was conflicted over whether to take her daughter for ice cream afterwards, worrying it might be seen as rewarding bad behaviour.

Hague, who shares Bambi with partner Tommy Fury, even admitted she had turned to an AI assistant for advice as she was unsure how best to respond. She explained that her sister Zoe Rae thought it was wrong to give Bambi a treat, while she herself felt stuck on what to do.

The influencer - whose reality TV show triumphed at last week’s NTAs - also raised questions about the nursery’s approach, saying staff followed a gentle parenting model that involved telling children their mouths were for eating food but did not include discipline or consequences. Hague admitted she was unsure whether this method was working as Bambi had repeated the behaviour despite not receiving attention for it at home.

She added that it was embarrassing for her as biting was the opposite of the values she wanted to instil in her daughter, who she hopes will grow up to be kind and caring.
