Molly-Mae Hague declared she is “not just an influencer anymore” as she landed a huge fashion gig.

The former Love Island star, who boasts more than six million Instagram followers, has taken a job as creative director at clothes store Pretty Little Thing.

While she had a platform on Instagram already, she rocketed to the heights of fame on Love Island in the summer series of 2019.

However, in recent months, she has been trying to distance herself from her reality star roots.

“I’m excited to be a creative director - I’m not an influencer any more and people can see that, it’s become a lot more than that,” Hague told Radio 1 Newsbeat.

Hague, who worked on a collection for the company after her stint on Love Island, said her new job would be full-time and involve designing clothes - rather than simply putting her name to them.

She said she also wants to improve the inclusivity by creating collections in sizes 4 to 30.

“I understand what the consumer wants, it’s a very similar audience to my following and a very similar age group,” Hague said.

“It’s going to be putting my ideas forward pretty much every day and working towards my vision within the brand.”
