Molly-Mae forced to close fake tan business due to coronavirus for 'safety first'

Molly Mae Hague has been forced to shut down her Filter by Molly-Mae fake tan range over coronavirus fears after the UK was put on lockdown yesterday.

The former Love Island star, 20, posted a message on the company website and another on its Instagram, explaining they were closed due to the covonavirus restrictions.

The message on the brand's Instagram, which has 134,000 followers, read: "Due to the recent provisions outlined by the government relating to COVID-19, Filter by Molly-Mae has made the decision to close our online store and fulfilment centre with immediate effect.

A message on the brand's Instagram page explained the decision to close (Instagram)

"Our main priority is to protect the safety for both our team and our valued customers.

"This is a decision that has now been made lightly and we want to thank everybody for your support so far.

She insisted the shut down was not forever, and ended with a poignant request for her followers.

"This is not a goodbye this is just a see you soon," she wrote.

"Love Molly-Mae x".

Meanwhile a note on the company's website displayed the same message, but added: "We feel that it would be unfair on you, our loyal customers, to accept your orders with no confirmation of delivery dates and out made priority is the safety of our staff and customers."

Earlier today, Molly-Mae revealed she was having a tough time in self-isolation with her boyfriend Tommy Fury.

She posted a video of the couple looking furious with the caption: "We are going to kill each other", as they struggle to get used to living without any other company or escape.

She also posted a photo from a while ago when she had what she thought was her "summer body".

Molly-Mae explained she had been on her way to getting back into that shape for this summer, but self-isolation was making it impossible as gyms are closed.

"Summer body really is cancelled," she declared.
