Mollie King left 'heartbroken' after dad dies following brain tumour diagnosis

Mollie King has taken to social media to announce her dad has died just months after he was diagnosed with a brain tumour. After receiving the diagnosis back in August, The Saturdays singer said the news had "shattered" her family's world, the Mirror reports

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday night, the 35-year-old shared a selection of sweet photos with her dad and revealed that he had died last week. She wrote: "Heartbroken beyond words. In August, my family’s world was shattered when my Dad was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Last week, we had to face the day we hoped would never come and say goodbye. Dad, we love you with all our hearts and we will miss you every single day.

"You have been our hero and it’s impossible to think of our lives without you. You have always been there for us with every step we’ve taken and you even held on a few extra days to meet baby Annabella. You gave us your everything. You will be in our hearts and our memories every single day."

Among those paying tribute included her former Strictly Come Dancing co-star Karen Hauer, who penned: "Oh Mollie, so sorry for your loss. Sending love." Echoing her comments, Zoe Ball added: "Mollie, I'm so sorry. Sending you so much love." While Jordan North wrote: "Oh Molly, I’m am so sorry to hear this news. Thinking of you and sending all my love to you, and all your family."

The tragic news of her dad's passing comes just days after Mollie gave birth to her daughter with fiancé and Nottingham-born Stuart Broad. At the end of last month, Mollie shared an emotional post with her doting 995k followers as she gave fans a glimpse of her huge baby bump.

The singer-turned-presenter said of the adorable snaps: "I can't wait to show them to our little one when she is old enough and these pictures will be such a lovely memory of my pregnancy now that I’m in the last few weeks. Today is officially my first day of maternity leave - it feels like it’s flown by but my body is wanting me to rest now! It’s definitely telling me that all cooking and cleaning is off the cards."
