Moise Kean sends message of thanks to Everton fans after scoring first goal for club

Moise Kean has thanked Everton's fans for their "trust" and "patience" after he broke his scoring duck.

The teenage striker opened his Blues account last night against Newcastle at Goodison after collecting Bernard's pass to fire past Martin Dubravka.

Kean's strike, in front of supporters in the Gwladys Street, broke the deadlock after half an hour and ended a long wait for the Italian's first goal since arriving from Juventus in a £27m deal last summer.

The 19-year-old wheeled away in celebration, sliding on his knees, getting up to perform his 'woah' dance and being mobbed by team-mates.

Goodison erupted with joy at the sight of his maiden goal for the club.

Kean was making his 22nd appearance of the season for Everton and the relief at finally getting off the mark was palpable.

“It feels good, it is a big motivation to do more work and help the team… I hope [it is the first of many goals],” Kean told evertontv.

“There was a big support for me. The fans trust in me and had big patience with me.

“I showed to the coach in training I am ready.

“And if he chooses to put me on the pitch, I do my best.

“I am very happy [with my overall performance].

“It is good motivation to start to do very well, to play very well for the team.”
