Moise Kean sends anti-racism message after PSG vs Basaksehir was suspended

Moise Kean has taken to social media to send an anti-racism message after Paris Saint Germain's Champions League game against Istanbul Basaksehir was suspended last night.

Istanbul alleged fourth official Sebastian Coltescu used racist language towards their assistant coach Pierre Webo after the Cameroon international was shown a red card in an exchange on the touchline.

The incident happened after just 14 minutes into the Group H tie, which was still goalless, and resulted in Istanbul players walking off the pitch in protest, with PSG players following.

In a statement released by UEFA last night, the governing body confirmed a thorough investigation on the incident would be opened immediately.

"Uefa has - after discussion with both clubs - decided on an exceptional basis to have the remaining minutes of the match played tomorrow with a new team of match officials,” a statement from UEFA read.

"A thorough investigation on the incident that took place will be opened immediately."

And Kean, currently on loan at the French champions from Everton, and who started the game on the bench, has taken to Instagram calling for things to change.

He wrote: "THINGS NEED TO CHANGE #notoracism #blacklivesmatter."

While Blues midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure has also taken to social media today to call for an end to racism.

He wrote on Twitter: "NO TO RACISM."

Former Everton star Idrissa Gana Gueye, who was also on the bench for PSG alongside Kean last night, posted on Twitter with the hashtag #NoRoomForRacism.

The match will now recommence tonight from the 14th minute, with a new set of officials set to be in charge for the 5.55pm kick-off.

Dutchman Danny Makkelie has been appointed referee, while Mario Diks and Marcin Boniek of Poland are the assistant referees with Bartosch Frankowsky, named fourth official.
