Moise Kean's father backs Everton transfer target for Premier League success before aiming Mario Balotelli jibe

The father of Everton transfer target Moise Kean has backed his son to succeed in the Premier League this coming season.

The Blues are close to landing the Italian frontman from Juventus with a deal worth around £30million in the pipeline, and the arrival of Kean will see Everton sign one of the most talented young footballers in Europe.

The 19-year-old forward has watched his reputation soar since breaking into the Juventus team in 2016, and the versatile Kean made his full international debut last year, aged just 18 years and 265 days.

Kean scored on his competitive debut for the Azzurri in a 2-0 win over Finland in March, becoming the first post-Millennium player to turn out for Italy in the process.

Kean's father, Biorou, believes now is the right time for his son to make the move to England, after revealing he blocked a switch to a Premier League club aged 14.

He told Sportitalia: "Mino Raiola (Kean's agent) followed my son from the football school to today. He knows how to handle him, like his father.

"My son treats him like a second father. My son in the past could have gone to England, but I stopped him when his mother wanted to take him to Manchester.

"He had to stay at Juventus to stay and mature. At 14, you cannot go abroad, I was not convinced and I gave my support to Juventus to block it."

Kean's dad also fired a broadside at Mario Balotelli, suggesting that the ex-Liverpool striker had allowed his fortune affect his output in football.

Five things about Moise Kean

"My son will not be like Balotelli," he added. "He had the money in his head. It changed him. My son will not fail. I am sure."

Kean is likely to sign for the Blues before transfer deadline day alongside Mainz midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin, who is close to joining Marco Silva's side.

The Blues to make the defensive midfielder the fourth arrival of the transfer window.
