Moise Kean reacts after making Champions League history on loan from Everton at PSG

Moise Kean continued his impressive form after scoring twice to help Paris Saint-Germain claim their first win of their 2020/21 Champions League campaign against Istanbul Basaksehir.

Last season’s Champions League finalists lost star man Neymar midway through the first half after he appeared to pull a muscle.

And after a goalless opening period, the on loan Everton forward opened the scoring on 64 minutes when he headed home from close-range.

The Italian then notched his second of the evening in the 79th minute with a fine finish on the turn inside the box after collecting Kylian Mbappe’s pass.

The youngster’s brace came just days after he got off the mark in Ligue 1 with a double during his side’s victory over Dijon at the weekend.

“Towards the end of the first half we suffered. But we played a good game and held out until the end,” Kean said after the game.

“Above all, I'm happy with my team-mates. We played away, which isn't easy.

"We held firm and got the win. This start will give me strength.”

Kean’s double means he is now the youngest Italian player to have scored in his first appearance as a starter in the Champions League, a record previously held by Alessandro Del Piero.

The striker joined the French champions for the remainder of the 2020/21 campaign in the closing stages of the summer transfer window having scored two League Cup goals already for the Blues this season.

Speaking on the move earlier this month, Kean said: "I am not particularly upset to have left English football, even if the banner from the Everton fans really moved me, as I wasn't expecting it.

"It's true, I could've returned to Juve, but I made this decision along with my family to play in Ligue 1. I've been to Paris before and have relatives here.

"I hope to learn a great deal from this fantastic experience. I am young, I like to work closely with top strikers, so I can learn from their experience and their style of football."
