Moise Kean makes heartwarming Mother’s Day gesture to Everton mum in cancer remission

Moise Kean hasn’t let the coronavirus stop him from making an impact on the Everton fanbase after making an amazing, heartwarming gesture for a Blue on Mother’s Day.

Evertonian mum of two Jayne O’Toole is a season ticket holder who is in remission from cancer and currently self-isolating to protect her immune system.

And while she hasn’t been able to head down to Goodison much this season or go out to celebrate Mother’s Day with his family as a result, 20-year-old Kean ensured she enjoyed a day to remember when surprising her with a special phone call to wish her well and promising her two Everton shirts for her young children.

"Jayne, we know you are going through a difficult moment so I want to wish you all the best,” he told her.

“Be strong. Everything is going to be okay, just keep going and I wish you all the best. A good Mother's Day to you.”

Kean, who joined Everton from Juventus last summer, enjoys a close relationship with his own mother but was unable to spend Mother’s Day with her because of the coronavirus pandemic, so insisted on calling a local mum to make her day extra special instead.
