Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl looks set to offer Moi Elyounoussi a second chance in the Premier League if he returns from Celtic.
The Norway international has spent two years on loan in the Scottish Premiership having initially signed for the Saints from Basel for £16m.
The winger was used sparingly by former boss Neil Lennon but was handed a start by interim boss John Kennedy in the stalemate with Dundee United.
Hasenhuttl revealed yesterday that he had been keeping tabs on the 26-year-old and would be willing to give him a shot at the Premier League next term.
When asked at his weekly press conference about Elyounoussi, the boss said: "We have a few players in our mind. You can be sure that every player who is on loan we try to follow.
“We try to have the latest information about his performances, his physical condition at the moment.
“We have to do this and, therefore, we will have a look at a few and everybody who does well has a chance to come back in the summer. This is how it should be.”

Elyounoussi has remained coy on his future at Parkhead after a disastrous season for the Hoops.
The attacker said last week that we was not thinking about his future and was focussed on his work in Glasgow's east end.
"I haven't thought much about [my future] yet, I still have games left, the season's not finished.
"I will think about that when everything is done. My main focus is still here and now and doing my best for the club.
"I'm in here every day to do my best in training, get better as a player and do my best on the pitch when I get the chance."
