Mohamed Sanu reacts on Twitter to getting traded to Patriots

Mohamed Sanu seemed stoked to join the New England Patriots. Bill Belchick reportedly traded for Sanu on Tuesday in a deal that sent a second round pick to the Atlanta Falcons. Sanu will join quarterback Tom Brady and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. Judging from what the Patriots gave up in compensation for Sanu, New England seems to have high expectations for the 30-year-old receiver.

Sanu took to Twitter to celebrate the pending transaction. And there’s obvious reasons for him to jump for joy. He is leaving a 1-6 team and joining a 7-0 team. It doesn’t hurt he gets to work with Brady, arguably the greatest quarterback of all time.

Sanu’s reaction drew a response from both Brady and Julian Edelman on Twitter. They seemed to share in Sanu’s excitement.

Sanu was the third option in Atlanta behind receivers Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley. It’s not clear where Sanu will fall on the depth chart for New England, which boasts receivers Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon, Phillip Dorsett, Jakobi Meyers and Gunner Olszewski. Receiver N’Keal Harry, a 2019 first-round pick, could also return from IR as soon as Week 9.
