Mohamed Sanu puts up incredible performance in his second game as a Patriot

The New England Patriots found a gem with Mohamed Sanu.

Tom Brady wanted Sanu on the team and it’s proving to be a perfect match. He ended his first game as a Patriot with two catches for 23 yards, while having less than a week to learn the team’s playbook. New England traded for him and released Josh Gordon — expecting Sanu to step up in Gordon’s place.

He did just that in a 37-20 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Sanu finished the game with 10 catches, 81 yards and a touchdown. His first touchdown with the Patriots came in the second quarter of the game, and it definitely won’t be his last touchdown reception from Brady.

Sanu had a team-high 14 targets in the game, which is more than Gordon had during his time in New England. The Patriots will likely debut rookie receiver N’Keal Harry in their Week 11 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. New England will head into a bye week and it’ll give Brady time to build chemistry with Harry and Sanu.

The Patriots will need a huge season out of Sanu to make a deep playoff run, and it’s looking like he’s the perfect guy for the job.
