Mohamed Salah to return to Liverpool for treatment on injury

Mohamed Salah will return to Liverpool for treatment on his posterior injury.

Liverpool fans were given an update on Mohamed Salah's injury as it was confirmed that he will return to the club for treatment on his posterior injury after Egypt's group fixtures at the Africa Cup of Nations. The Egyptian Football Association stated that they hope to have Salah back for the semi-finals of the tournament if they qualify.

Salah sustained the injury during Egypt's match against Ghana on Thursday, but the severity and recovery timeline are still unknown. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp had suggested earlier that Salah would come back to the club for rehabilitation, working with the medical staff to ensure his recovery.

Klopp, who had spoken with Salah after the injury, stated that any contact since then has been through the Liverpool medical staff. He also remarked that if the Egyptian forward recovers quickly, there is a possibility that he could return to AFCON to support his national team in the later stages of the competition.

Despite Salah's absence, Liverpool showed their quality in a 4-0 victory against Bournemouth in the Premier League. Darwin Núñez and Diogo Jota were the heroes of the match, scoring two goals each in the second half. Klopp expressed his satisfaction with their performances and praised Alexis Mac Allister for his exceptional display in midfield.

The Liverpool manager was also impressed with Conor Bradley, who made his Premier League debut at right-back. He described the young player's performance as 'pretty good' and commended his work ethic and footballing abilities.

While Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to five points with their win over Bournemouth, the focus remains on Salah's injury and his recovery timetable. Fans will hope that his rehabilitation goes well, allowing him to return to action as soon as possible and continue his impressive form for both club and country.
