Mohamed Salah takes sly dig at Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Harry Kane after late Liverpool win

Five players look set to be battling it out between now and the end of the season for the Premier League Golden Boot.

Man City's Sergio Aguero currently leads the way with 19 league goals for the campaign after netting in his side's 2-0 win over Fulham on Saturday afternoon.

The Argentine hitman, who previously won the gong during the 2014/15 season, could well add to his tally on Wednesday evening with the reigning champions facing Cardiff City at home.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Harry Kane are just two goals behind ahead of the final push, with Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane also on 17 for the season.

Salah has endured a bit of a nightmare in front of goal in recent weeks with just one goal in his last 11 appearances in all competitions for the Reds.

However, he did play a key part in his side's late win over Spurs on Sunday afternoon with Hugo Lloris palming his header onto Toby Alderweireld with the ball trickling over the line.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, last season's Golden Boot winner was quizzed about his recent form and took a bit of a sly dig at the likes of Aguero, Aubameyang and Kane.

"I didn't score for a couple of games but there are some players who has the same number of goals as me but people are saying those players are having the best season of their life," he said .

"There are three or four players and no-one talks about them - they say they have a good season and I'm the only one that has had a bad season.

"I want to win the Premier League - that is the most important thing to me."

Aguero is the current favourite to win the award with Sky Bet pricing him at 5/4, with Salah not far behind at 3/1.

Kane and Aubameyang are priced at 7/2 and 6/1 respectively.
