Mohamed Salah shines as Liverpool front three prove a point

Ian Doyle - Mohamed Salah

The obvious choice for the Mohamed Salah player of the month award is, well, Mohamed Salah.

Who else could it be after such a remarkable October for the Liverpool forward?

Seven goals in five games was a pretty good return in itself. But don't forget that among those was a hat-trick at Old Trafford, the first Liverpool player to do so since 1936.

Oh, and Salah also scored one of the goals of the season at Watford.

Having netted an even better one against Manchester City two weeks earlier.

The best player in the world? Absolutely. The best Liverpool player of the last month? There's no contest, really.

Paul Gorst - Mohamed Salah

Who else?

Roberto Firmino scored a hat-trick at Watford and Sadio Mane has also been in excellent form, but October - much like August and September - belonged to Salah.

Three goals in the already famous 5-0 win at Manchester United followed on after two Goal-of-the-Season contenders against Manchester City and Watford.

He also claimed one of the finest assists of the year in the 5-0 win at Watford with a gorgeous pass for Mane's opening goal at Vicarage Road.

Not just confining his genius to domestic matters, though, Salah bagged two vital goals at Atletico Madrid to help Jurgen Klopp's side to within a whisker of the knockout stages of the Champions League also.

The best player in the Premier League right now and it's not really close.

Theo Squires - Mohamed Salah

What sort of question is this? Mohamed Salah, duh!

Four appearances, seven goals, three assists, two Goal of the Season contenders, what a month!

The Egyptian is the best player in the world at the moment and it’s not even close.

Alisson is the only other player at Anfield who has stood out to such a level in recent weeks, making countless great saves, and so many of them seemingly one-on-ones.

But the Man City golazo. It's Watford's twin sister. The Wanda Metapolitano throwback. The Manchester United hat-trick. It can’t not be Salah

I’ve not seen a run like this since Luis Suarez during the first half of 2013/14 when set free to play football again.

We are witnessing greatness from Mohamed Salah on a weekly basis and need to enjoy it for as long as it lasts.

It seems like it is a Mohamed Salah clean sweep for our writers, do you agree? Vote for your Player of the Month here:
