Mohamed Salah sends warning to Man City after Liverpool finish second in Premier League title race

Mohamed Salah has vowed Liverpool will fight even harder for the Premier League title next year after finishing agonisingly short of Manchester City on the final day of the season.

Despite losing just one game all campaign and recording their best ever Premier League season, the Reds fell one point short of the reigning champions to ensure their long wait to be crowned English champions would extend into at least a 30th year.

Sadio Mane's brace saw Jurgen Klopp's side finish the season with a 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

And while the Premier League trophy was heading to Anfield for 21 minutes after Man City fell behind away at Brighton & Hove Albion, Pep Guardiola's side bounced back to claim the title courtesy of an emphatic 4-1 victory at the Amex Stadium.

Reflecting on the Reds’ season with the club’s website after the game, Salah offered his congratulations to City but sent them a warning as he made promise to Liverpool's supporters.

"We did everything this season, we only lost one game," the forward said. "We got 97 points.

"I say congratulations to Manchester City and we will fight again next season for this trophy."
