Mohamed Salah sends Sadio Mane a cheeky dig after he scores twice for Liverpool

Mohamed Salah made a cheeky dig at Liverpool team-mate Sadio Mane after firing Liverpool to victory over West Ham on Sunday.

Reds top scorer Salah scored twice to guide his side to a 3-1 win at the London Stadium.

Jurgen Klopp left Roberto Firmino on the bench, while Sadio Mane was missing entirely after picking up a minor muscle injury.

And Salah admitted that while he knew there was likely to be more responsibility on his shoulders, he was never worried about not winning without his usual counterparts in attack.

"It’s a good win for us - they are a tough team. We need to win every game now,” he told Sky Sports at full time.

“I knew there was a big responsibility on me (with Mane and Firmino not in the team) and I just try - every game, not just now - to help the team."

“I’ve played without them before, and we win also (laughs).”

Salah dominated the headlines for his expert finish and sensational touch to put himself in a position to score.

But the Egyptian heaped praise on assister Xherdan Shaqiri for the cross, which he said was inch-perfect to allow him to score.

"It was a lovely ball from Shaq for the second goal, I want to give him credit,” he went on.

“If it was a little bit short I would have taken it with my left foot, but the ball was exactly at my feet so I had one touch with the right and then the finish."

Liverpool are now up to third and firmly back in the title race, one point behind Manchester United and four behind Manchester City.

And Salah stated his belief that the Reds were back in the hunt to retain their crown.

"City were struggling in the beginning,” he went on. “Then we were struggling three or four games ago. Now we need to keep winning if we want to win the league. It’s been a really big week."
