Mohamed Salah sends message to Man City after Liverpool FC lose Premier League title

Manchester City won the Premier League title on the final day of the season yesterday and for Liverpool players including Mohamed Salah, it happened in agonising fashion.

Liverpool led 1-0 at home to Wolves early in the first half following Sadio Mane's strike, while Man City were trailing 1-0 at the same time after Glenn Murray's header put Brighton in front.

It stayed that way for all of three minutes before Sergio Aguero equalised and Aymeric Laporte put the Blues 2-1 up before the break.

Mane bagged his second for Liverpool in their 2-0 win but City cruised to a 4-1 victory thanks to further goals from Riyad Mahrez and Ilkay Gundogan.

Man City have now racked up 198 points in two Premier League campaigns, something which left Salah congratulating his counterparts for their title win.

But the forward insists that Liverpool have still achieved something special by amassing 97 points, eight points better than the previous second best total set by Manchester United during the 2011/12 season.

"We did everything this season, we only lost one game," Salah explained. "We got 97 points.

"I say congratulations to Manchester City and we will fight again next season for this trophy."
