Mohamed Salah's reaction spotted to Diogo Jota missing an absolute sitter for Liverpool

Mohamed Salah's reaction to Diogo Jota missing an absolute sitter for Liverpool said it all.

The Portuguese striker has only recently returned from injury and featured in the Reds' 1-0 defeat by Fulham on the weekend before starting up top in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Liverpool have struggled for goals in recent weeks, and Jurgen Klopp will be hoping that having another striker back in the mix will improve things in the final third.

The Premier League champions started tentatively against Bundesliga side RB Leipzig on Wednesday night and carved out only a handful of opportunities for themselves.

Liverpool's best chance to open the scoring came on the turn of halftime after Salah set up Jota to fire home from point-blank range, only for the former Wolves striker to hit the side netting.

Salah immediately put his hands to his head before walking back into position with a look of sheer disbelief etched on his face.

It looked like it was going to be another one of those nights for Liverpool, who are in desperate need of a confidence boost.

But fortunately for Jota, Salah, and everyone associated with Liverpool for that matter, things improved after the break.

Salah got himself on the scoresheet before Sadio Mane made it 2-0 on the night, and 4-0 on aggregate, to see Liverpool through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
