Wolves defender Conor Coady has revealed Liverpool players - including Mohamed Salah - gave him plenty of stick for divin during their Premier League clash in December.
The former Reds centre-half initially won his side a penalty as he went down under a challenge from Sadio Mane, before the decision was overturned by VAR with the defender guilty of simulation.
The Wolves captain has taken full responsibility as he badly misjudged the situation preempting the contact from the Anfield winger in the 4-0 defeat.
Coady says he had hoped ref Craig Pawson wouldn't point to the spot but that didn't stop Liverpool players from criticising the 28-year-old for going down too easily - as he revealed Salah, in particular, had some choice words for him.
He told the Greatest Game podcast : “I got some serious stick for that!
“As the ball comes in, you know when you’re thinking someone is going to touch you, as I’m thinking that he (Mane) is going to touch me, he never, he moved his foot (away) dead quick.
“So I go down and I was hoping that the referee wouldn’t blow his whistle.
“The next minute, the whistle goes and I just put my head down into the turf and thought 'oh for f**** sake'.
“So I’m thinking they’re obviously going to see it on VAR. I’m walking back and all the Liverpool players are giving me stick, I just put my head down and walked back.
“I remember as I’m walking back Salah, of all people, said to me ‘you can’t do that, my friend’. I didn't even appeal about it.
"My family gave me a bit of stick and said 'what are you doing?!?' I looked stupid."
