'Mohamed Salah robbed' - Fantasy Football fans are furious with FPL bonus points decision

Liverpool overcame Leeds United with a comfortable 3-0 win on Sunday afternoon, with goals from Mohamed Salah, Fabinho and Sadio Mane sending Liverpool joint-top of the Premier League.

The result was unfortunately overshadowed by a distressing injury to Liverpool 's Harvey Elliot, with the 18-year-old having to be stretchered off the pitch as a result of Pascal Strujik's red-card challenge.

Salah opened the scoring when he was on hand to tap in Trent Alexander-Arnold 's cross in the first half, and second half goals from Fabinho and Mane on either side of the red card decision proffered the Reds their third win of the season.

However, there was a fair bit of negative reaction from Fantasy Football fans about the Liverpool vs Leeds game, with FPL managers seeming angered at the decision to award no bonus points to Salah despite his goal.

After each game, bonus points are awarded to the highest-performing players based on a metric system used in Fantasy Premier League, with the best player receiving an extra three points, second-best two points, and one extra point for the third.

In a tweet on the Official Fantasy Premier League Twitter account, the bonus points for the game were confirmed not long after the final whistle, with opinion split on the decision.

Here are the FPL bonus points given out for the game between Liverpool and Leeds at Elland Road:

Reds full-back Alexander-Arnold took all three bonus points as he grabbed an assist and a clean sheet, whilst Reds 'keeper Alisson was awarded two, and fellow full-back Andrew Robertson took the one bonus point.

Fantasy Football fans were frustrated that Salah wasn't given a bonus point despite his goal and overall impressive performance, whilst Andrew Robertson and Alisson both registered bonus points, despite having little to do for the majority of the game.

Here are some of the reactions on social media from Fantasy Football fans regarding the FPL's bonus points decision on Sunday evening.

As you can see from the reactions, many people disagreed with the bonus points decision, with some FPL players even calling for the bonus points system to change.

Liverpool's defenders were favoured despite not being called into action too often, whilst Salah, Mane, and Thiago all grabbed goal contributions and were extremely involved at Elland Road, but had no extra points to show for it.
