Mohamed Salah returns but two key players missing as Liverpool train ahead of Champions League clash with Genk

Mohamed Salah is set to return to the Liverpool side when they travel to Genk for the Champions League clash on Wednesday.

Salah was forced to sit out Sunday's 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford after suffering an ankle injury prior to the international break earlier this month.

The Egypt captain was injured by a poor tackle from Leicester's Hamza Choudhury and was forced off with the problem before hobbling away from Anfield with a sprain on October 5.

However, the two-time Premier League Golden Boot winner could now be recalled to the team for Wednesday's game in Belgium after taking part in open training on Tuesday afternoon .

Salah was part of the squad that were put through their paces at Melwood before flying out to Belgium for the Group E clash at the Luminus Arena.

However, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joel Matip both missed the light session at the West Derby training complex, with manager Jurgen Klopp expected to offer an update on the fitness of Salah and the two defenders in his pre-match press conference on Tuesday evening.
