Mohamed Salah pays loving tribute to Dejan Lovren after his Liverpool exit

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has stated just how much he is going to miss having defender Dejan Lovren with him at Anfield.

The world-class attacker had formed a loving bromance with the centre-back but the pair were broken up on Monday as it was confirmed Lovren would be joining Zenit St Petersburg in a deal worth around £11m after spending six years with the Reds.

Both players were often seen laughing and joking with each other at Melwood while also dishing out banter on social media.

The tight bond which was developed during their time with the Reds and saw them regularly taking cheeky harmless swipes at each other provided amusement to just about everybody involved and watching on.

On Monday, Salah said: "I don't know how to say it, my friend.

"We are really going to miss you a lot, especially me.

"You've been an unbelievable player and a great friend for me.

"I'm going to miss you a lot, I love you so much.

"You've been fantastic in and outside of the field thank you for everything you did for the club and thank you for everything you did for me.

"I wish you all the best for the future and I hope you have a great career.

"Enjoy the new club with your family, thank you very much and see you soon.
