Mohamed Salah makes Liverpool team-mates admission after Manchester United mauling

Manchester United were dismantled by quadruple chasing Liverpool who ran riot at Anfield on Tuesday night - and Mohamed Salah has spoken out about how the goals came so easily.

The trio of Salah, Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane scored the first three goals, two of them in the first 22 minutes, in an emphatic performance to which United simply had no answer.

And Salah had the final say, set up by Diogo Jota this time, with his second of the night to cap it off as Liverpool added a four-goal win and more to misery to United's season.

The Reds have beaten United across two Premier League fixtures this season and Salah was asked about that dominance - and he even made a candid confession about his teammates.

"In midfield, they make our life easier," Salah told Sky Sports.

"We have a clean sheet here and there. Once we get the first goal, we want the second and the third. It was a top performance by us and, hopefully, we continue. I score many goals for this club. Sometimes you have bad luck.

"The most important thing is the team winning. We just need to focus on ourselves and the rest is not in our hands."

Jurgen Klopp was also full of praise for his team, stating it was "a really good game, wonderful goals, everyone is happy."

He went on to say that although United are "not in a good moment, they will come back."

During the game, supporters from both sets of fans came together to pay tribute to Cristiano Ronaldo following the death of his newborn son.

On the applause during the seventh minute, Klopp added: "Loved it, loved it. That's exactly how football should be.

"All rivalry aside in this moment. It was a show of class, and of course, all of our thoughts, from the moment we heard about it, are with Cristiano and his family."
