Mohamed Salah keeping private promise in Wembley tunnel sums up his thoughts on Liverpool

Mohamed Salah might be a private individual but he is true to his word.

The Liverpool winger rarely speaks to the media and when he is asked to interview, he tends to decline, albeit politely.

Salah last spoke to the press after Liverpool's 3-2 win over Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final. His comment was short and sweet and outlined exactly his lofty ambitions for this season: "When will I speak? When we win all four."

Reporters were keen to speak to Salah following Liverpool's latest triumph, winning the FA Cup final against Chelsea. But the Egypt international showed he's taking his vow of media silence seriously when it comes to discussing what the Reds can achieve this campaign, and snubbed the press.

His actions are a clear suggestion that he believes Liverpool can go all the way and make history this season - at which point he'll no doubt be happy to talk to the media about the incredible achievement.

It's two down, two to go for Liverpool after lifting the FA Cup following a penalty shootout win over Chelsea with a Champions League final at the end of the month. The Reds also have a chance to close the gap on Manchester City in the Premier League title race after Pep Guardiola's side drew against West Ham on Sunday, but it is still in the Citizens' hands.

Salah's status for the Champions League final showdown against Real Madrid is currently up in the air after he limped up off after half an hour of action against the Blues.

Salah was optimistic about his chances of being fit, however, claiming: "Of course, it's all good!" as he headed back to Liverpool's team bus with the FA Cup winners' medal around his neck.

Jurgen Klopp will deliver a more detailed update in his Monday press conference but the early signs are positive with Salah having only missed three games for Liverpool through injury during his Anfield career.

"We talked to Mohamed Salah after he was injured against Chelsea in the FA Cup," Egypt assistant boss Ahmed Hossam was quoted as saying by the country's media on Saturday. "He confirmed that he is fine and that the injury is not a big one."
