Mohamed Salah injury: Liverpool star fit for Arsenal clash despite wearing wrist splint in training

Mohamed Salah will be available for Liverpool’s trip to Arsenal this weekend, despite being pictured in a wrist splint on Wednesday.

The Egyptian was photographed wearing a protective cast while training at Melwood on Wednesday afternoon, sparking fears over a fresh injury blow for the Reds.

However, Standard Sport understands that the forward’s issue is a minor one and he remains in contention for Saturday after playing a full part in yesterday’s session.

Although fears have been eased over Salah, Jurgen Klopp still faces a wait on the fitness of Naby Keita and Jordan Henderson.

The pair missed last week’s back-to-back wins over Red Star Belgrade and Cardiff City due to hamstring issues, and were unable to join the main group in training.

With just two days of preparation remaining until Saturday’s game, it appears unlikely that either will make a late bid to return to the starting XI.

That could provide an opportunity for summer signing Fabinho to make a third consecutive start, officially marking the end of what has been a slow start to his Liverpool career.
