Mohamed Salah was pictured with a protective boot around his left ankle after joining up with the Egyptian national team.
The Liverpool forward flew out to meet his international colleagues immediately after the win against Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday.
After undergoing a scan with the Egyptian medical team, it was decided that Salah won't feature for the Pharaohs against either Kenya or Comoros on Thursday and Sunday, respectively.

In a loose translation, the Egypt National Football Team Twitter account posted to say Salah was keen to follow his team-mates' training session which took place at the Borg El Arab Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Salah has been troubled by a persistent ankle issue since limping out of the 2-1 win over Leicester on October 5 after a poor challenge from Hamza Choudhury.
He missed the 1-1 draw with Manchester United as a result of the injury and failed to complete 90 minutes at Aston Villa on November 2 before then aggravating the issue again in Sunday's 3-1 victory over Manchester City after a tackle from Fernandinho in the first half and was taken off for Joe Gomez inside the final five minutes.
