Mohamed Salah injury concern grows as Liverpool striker absent from training

Mohamed Salah remains a major doubt for Liverpool's Premier League trip to Arsenal having sat out training on Monday.

Salah was notably absent from the outside session at the AXA Training Centre at Kirkby as the Reds ramped up their preparations for Wednesday's game at the Emirates.

The Egyptian was substituted moments after scoring from the spot after 61 minutes of Saturday's 2-0 win at Brighton having hurt is foot earlier in the second half.

While Jurgen Klopp stated after the game Salah was not concerned by the problem, the player subsequently underwent tests to ascertain the extent of the damage.

And the forward now faces a race against time to be fit for the clash at Arsenal, with Liverpool aiming for a ninth successive Premier League win to keep the pressure on leaders Manchester City.

James Milner and Kostas Tsimikas were also absent from the session.

There was better injury news for Klopp, though, with Ibrahima Konate returning to full training having missed the last two games.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino, who all failed to make the matchday squad at Brighton at the weekend, also took part in the session.
