Mohamed Salah given Ballon d'Or hint ahead of Erling Haaland after Liverpool start

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has been one of the best players in the world so far this season.

Salah has been in superb form so far this season, scoring 15 goals in 13 games across all competitions.

Having scored in 10 consecutive games for Liverpool, the forward has been instrumental in his side’s impressive form so far this season.

That form has also led to him being branded by many in the game as the best player in the world at this moment in time.

And the forward can now add another honour to his name as he is currently the best rated player in the big-5 European leagues for the past three months.

Salah leads the way ahead of Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland, Fabian Ruiz of Napoli, Dimitri Payet and Joshua Kimmich.

Using data from OptaPro, the values presented by CIES refer to the averages for matches played in the big-5 leagues across Europe over four different time periods.

To be included in the rankings, a player must have been rated for a sufficient number of games.

The Egyptian forward has been in talks over a new deal for several months, with his current contract running to 2023.

Salah recently gave an interview to Sky Sports in which he said he wanted to spend the rest of his career at the club but that his future “depends on the club”.

He said: "If you ask me, I would love to stay until the last day of my football career, but I can't say much about that - it's not in my hands.

"It depends on what the club want, not on me. At the moment I can't see myself ever playing against Liverpool. That would make me sad. It's hard, I don't want to talk about it, but it would make me really sad.

"At the moment I don't see myself playing against Liverpool but let's see what will happen in the future."
