Mohamed Salah expected to return to Liverpool team when Premier League title-chasers host Wolves

Mohamed Salah is expected to be passed fit for Liverpool's clash with Wolves at Anfield on Sunday.

Salah sat out the Reds' incredible 4-0 triumph over Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final on Tuesday after suffering concussion .

The man the Kopp affectionately refer to as the 'Egyptian King' suffered a nasty collision with Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka in the second half of Saturday's 3-2 win at St James' Park and was forced off on a stretcher.

As a result, the Reds' 26-goal top scorer was sat in the stands as his team-mates produced a remarkable recover to edge out the Lia Liga champions 4-3 on aggregate at Anfield.

The former Roma star still attempted to inspire his team-mates however, arriving at Anfield with a t-shirt that urged his colleagues to 'Never Give Up' in their pursuit of completing a stunning comeback.

Speaking about the fitness of his top scorer earlier this week, Klopp confirmed that Salah was suffering no after-effects of the knock with Dubravka, but said he wasn't medically cleared to play a part against Barca.

Klopp said: "It's a concussion. So that means he could not even be allowed to play.

"He feels okay but he's not good enough for a medical point of view. That's all. I can confirm 100% he will not play.

"Will he be okay for the weekend? Yes."

Salah's goal in the win at Newcastle was his 70th in just 102 Liverpool appearances since moving from Roma in the summer of 2017.
