Mohamed Salah changes up his look as Liverpool forward jets off to AFCON

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has shown off his fresh look, as he prepares for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Reds’ talismanic forward scored his 23rd goal of the season on Sunday, after finding the net with a spectacular run and finish against his former side Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Salah’s goal put Liverpool 2-0 ahead against Thomas Tuchel’s side, before Chelsea fought back to level the score by half-time.

However, that was the 29-year-old’s last appearance for the Reds before he represents Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations - and he has taken to social media to show he is ready for the challenge.

Salah posted a picture on his Instagram of him on a plane with his Egypt teammates and the wide forward looks to have altered his familiar hairstyle.

Pictured alongside Aston Villa winger Trezeguet while he was sleeping, the Liverpool forward showed off his new haircut, having trimmed down his recognisable look.

Egypt begin their tournament campaign on January 11 against Nigeria and will also take on Sudan and Guinea-Bissau during the group stage.

Seven-time winners Egypt travel to the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon as the competition's most successful team, but have not lifted the trophy since 2010.

Arguably the best player in the world, Salah was part of the Egypt side that finished runners-up in 2017 and will hope his own phenomenal form can guide his country to victory.

Senegal’s Sadio Mane and Guinea’s Naby Keita are also taking part in the tournament, with the trio all expected to be available for Liverpool’s league game against Leicester on February 10.
