Mohamed Salah's future has dominated the back pages in recent months and another transfer story was exclusively revealed by Mirror Football over the weekend.
Barcelona have offered the Egypt international, 29, the chance to join Xavi's ambitious young side. The Catalan giants can afford to sign Salah after agreeing a £235million sponsorship deal with audio streaming platform Spotify in March.
Liverpool fans will be hoping the appeal of playing under Jurgen Klopp will keep Salah at Anfield, yet a move to the Nou Camp will give him the opportunity to finally settle a score with Barcelona's bitter rivals Real Madrid by pipping them to domestic success.
Salah has been desperate to get one over Real since the Champions League final in Kyiv four years ago. The prolific forward suffered a shoulder injury during the first half after a heavy challenge from then Real captain Sergio Ramos, ending his evening.
The Spanish side went on to win 3-1 to lift their 13th European Cup. Salah did eventually get his Champions League winners' medal - scoring in Liverpool's 2-0 final win against Tottenham in May 2019 - yet he's still waiting to get one over Los Blancos.
Real defeated the Reds in the Champions League quarter-finals in 2020-21 and went on to inflict more pain on Salah and his current team-mates last month, when Carlo Ancelotti's side recorded a 1-0 victory against Liverpool to win their 14th European Cup in Paris.

Will Mohamed Salah join Barcelona? Let us know in the comments below!
Salah's determination to beat Real was evident after Jurgen Klopp's side defeated Villarreal in the semi-finals. When asked if he wanted to face Manchester City or Real in the final, he said: "I want to play Madrid, I have to be honest... we lost in the final to them so I want to play against them and hopefully win it."
And then when Real won their semi-final, Salah tweeted: "We have a score to settle."
It all depends on whether that's Salah's score or Liverpool's. If it's Liverpool's score, then he should stay on Merseyside and extend his contract, which expires in June 2023. But if it's Salah's score, then it makes sense for him to join Barcelona.
He will get the chance to play in El Clasico at least twice each season and knock Real off their domestic perch. Ancelotti's side have dominated Spanish football this term, winning La Liga - finishing 13 points ahead of Barcelona - and the Supercopa de Espana.
Barcelona will have a great chance of regaining their domestic mantle with Salah in their starting XI. And even if the Egyptian didn't have a score to settle with Real, the glamour of playing for Barcelona could be enough to lure him away from Anfield.
Liverpool and their supporters want Salah to stay and there's a good chance that will happen. Yet if he does decide to say goodbye to the Kop, Barcelona would be the perfect destination. Both Real and Liverpool fans will be hoping this transfer doesn't happen.
