Mohamed Salah approached by pitch invader after Liverpool beat Southampton

Mohamed Salah was approached by a pitch invader after Liverpool's 4-0 win over Southampton on Saturday.

The Reds comfortably beat Ralph Hasenhuttl's side after goals from Diogo Jota, Thiago and Virgil van Dijk.

The Egyptian wasn't on the scoresheet himself, but added to his assist tally as he set up Jota's second of the afternoon.

At the full time whistle, he was the focus for a supporter that had made it onto the Anfield pitch.

Phone in hand, the fan appeared to be trying to take a photo with the winger before he was quickly removed by security.

It's something Salah has unfortunately had to get used to as he is often confronted by pitch invaders while away on international duty with Egypt.

Pitch invaders targeted the 29-year-old earlier this month during Egypt's 2-2 draw over Angola in a 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifying match.

On that occasion, three separate attempts were made by supporters to get onto the pitch and take a photo with the star.

Saturday's crucial win over Southampton has moved them up to second in the table ahead of Manchester City and Chelsea's fixtures on Sunday.

Pep Guardiola's side welcome West Ham to the Etihad while Chelsea host Manchester United in what will be United's first Premier League match since they parted ways with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
