It was a well-deserved win against Chelsea on Sunday. We had a mini-wobble for about five minutes when they could have scored a couple of goals but other than that it was pretty clear cut.
Liverpool were by far the better side. They played well and really wanted it. It was so fitting that Salah put the final nail in the coffin for them after everything that happened last week.
There were some really good individual displays, no-one played badly. Everyone was at least a 7/10.
I thought Henderson was really good again in the slightly-more advanced role. He’s hit good form and that showed with the first goal. It was a fantastic piece of play from him and a great goal.
And Salah’s goal was the best goal at Anfield this season.
As a goalscorer myself, I’m excited that we’ve got two players going for the golden boot. I’d love to see one of them win it.
I’ve spoken to Mane many times and I think he’s good enough to win it. He’s right up there with Salah and that’s good healthy competition. They’re not greedy, they still pass to each other.
If we can win the league and one of them can win the golden boot, it’d be great for either of them. I think Salah is going to come good between now and the end of the season.
It’s great to see Mane in amongst the goals but it’s probably 60/40 in Mo’s favour. I’ve got a funny feeling he’s going to get amongst the goals against Cardiff and Huddersfield but we’ll see.
Returning trio
We’ve got to be careful with Oxlade-Chamberlain. He’s been out for a long time, he knows that and you’ve got to make sure he’s alright so it was good for him to get some more minutes for the Under-23s and it’s great that Joe Gomez has had a run-out.
Rhian Brewster’s got a few goals since coming back. He’s a young lad but you never know, he might get a run-out before the end of the season. He’s one for the future obviously and he’ll be heavily involved in pre-season next season. It’s all great to see.
The Aldo shuffle
It was a great turn out from the Irish Liverpool fans. Nearly 30,000 were there and it was a really good game from all the players. Liverpool scraped it.
I played 15 minutes for both teams and Robbie Fowler very kindly let me take the penalty. I did the Aldo shuffle but I was bit scared of falling over, being 60-years-old! It came off and it was a great day.
I loved scoring at the Aviva Stadium because we played at Lansdowne Road before it got changed. We had a really good night afterwards and did our best for Sean Cox.
