Mohamed Magdy's agent claims Celtic are still chasing the Egyptian midfielder but face competition from two Turkish clubs.
The 24-year-old has impressed with Al-Ahly and was linked with a switch to the Premiership last season.
The attacking midfielder joined the Egyptian giants from Pyramids FC in 2019 and helped in their run to the African Champions League final.
Known largely by his nickname Afsha, the fully-fledged Egypt international contributed with five goals and eight assists in last season's Egyptian Premier League as his club stormed to the title.
Abdelrahman Ismail told an Egyptian radio station: " Galatasaray, Besiktas, and Celtic are competing to sign Mohamed Magdy Afsha.

"Afsha’s contract with Al Ahly expires in 2024, and no one from the club has spoken to us about extending the contract yet.
“But Afsha is happy with Al Ahly, and if the club open negotiations about extending his contract, he will agree immediately.
"The Olympic national team team has not officially notified us of their desire to include Afsha in their squad for the Tokyo Olympics.
"But Shawky Gharib, the coach of Egypt U23, spoke with us and confirmed that Afsha is in the 14 over-aged players preliminary list."
