Mohamed Elyounoussi will return to Celtic for another season-long loan - according to a report in his homeland
The winger had a fruitful spell under Neil Lennon last year before injury curtailed his season and the Hoops boss has been keen to secure his services as he bids to secure 10 In A Row.
The Norway international grabbed seven goals and six assists in 20 games for the Hoops before missing a chunk of the season with a foot injury.
He had been easing himself back into the action with three appearances before the coronavirus pandemic put paid to the Scottish Premiership.
Norwegian journalist Arilas Ould-Saada, International football correspondent for Media outlet VG, tweeted the winger has decided to spend another year in Glasgow.
He said: "Mohamed Elyounoussi has decided his future!
"According to our information the Norwegian international will extend his loan spell at Celtic for one more season.
"Final paperwork remains before it’s a done deal."
Celtic have been in talks with Southampton over both the wideman and fellow loanee Fraser Forster as they attempt to chart a path that can bring both back to the club.
Lennon has been upbeat about the prospect and admits he would be keen to have them in place for next term.
He said: "I don't think it's unrealistic. They (Forster and Elyounoussi) are two players who added a lot to the squad last year and made a really positive contribution.
"So they are two players we would dearly love to have for next season.
"But we just have to wait and see. They are not our players. We will see how negotiations go. It's good to see them back and involved and it would give us continuity if we could get those two in."
