Mohamed Elyounoussi and Fraser Forster Celtic deal latest as Southampton 'relaxed' over loans stars' extension

Southampton are relaxed about the Celtic contract situation of loan stars Mo Elyounoussi and Fraser Forster as COVID-19 forces football into an extended shutdown.

Both players are on loan with the Hoops but their contracts may expire before the season gets started again because of the current situation.

While Elyounoussi has impressed in fits and starts, Forster has been in inspired form and won his side the League Cup with a sure to become legendary performance between the sticks against Rangers.

Journalist Alex Crook appeared on talkSPORT today to give some local insight from the South-coast.

And he has delivered Celtic fans some much needed positive news when he declared that he reckons Southampton are "relaxed" about the situation and will be happy to extend their deals.

He told the station: "Neil Lennon has come out and said we really need them to stay to the end of the season whenever that may be.

"Because they are both under contract Southampton are pretty relaxed about that.

"If they have to extend their loans I think they will so that's good news for Celtic."
