Mohamed Elyounoussi admits Celtic and Southampton dilemma as winger reveals his plans for next season

Mohamed Elyounoussi admits he's caught between a Southampton second chance and a will to finish the season at Celtic.

The on-loan winger has been left in limbo by the football shutdown and is due to return to St Mary's at the end of the season.

But with no decision on the Premiership campaign as yet, the Norwegian is playing a waiting game.

Elyounoussi impressed in patches for Celtic, although injuries have ensured his campaign has been a stop-start one.

"I still have three years left of the contract with Southampton," he told The Scottish Sun.

"I want to show a better side of myself than what I have done.

"I hope I can go back and fight for a place next season.

"But at the same time, I really want to finish the season at Celtic and win the league."

Despite that bad luck on the fitness front, Elyounoussi has enjoyed his brief spell in Scotland.

But what comes next remains a mystery for the 25-year-old.

He added: "I've had injuries but it's been a very nice time in Celtic, especially after how things were going in Southampton.

"It's a very strange situation. The plan was a holiday in late May, before I meet for pre-season with Southampton.

"But now I don't quite know what will happen."
