Mohamed Elneny sends message to Arsenal following Premier League coronavirus postponements

Arsenal loanee Mohamed Elneny has sent a message to his parent club following the news that the Premier League have suspended games until at least April 4th.

The news came after the Gunners announced on Thursday evening that head coach Mikel Arteta had tested positive for coronavirus amid a breakout in the UK.

Arteta himself took to social media to send a message to supporters: "Thanks for your words and support," he wrote. "Feeling better already.

"We're all facing a huge & unprecedented challenge. Everyone's health is all that matters right now.

"Protect each other by following the guidelines & we'll come through this together. Well done PL for making the right decisions."

The diagnosis has meant that the entire first-team squad and coaching staff have now gone into self-isolation as a precaution, but, Elneny, who is on loan at Turkish side Besiktas is in action this weekend.

On Sunday, his team take part in the behind closed doors derby against fierce rivals Galatasaray.

Ahead of the game, the player has taken to social media to send a message to Arsenal.

"I wish the best for everyone In the Arsenal Family and a quick recovery to Arteta," he wrote on his Facebook page.

"And I hope the rest of the team stay safe and healthy and I wish all the best and quick recovery for all the people who was tested positive may allah cure you quickly."

Elneny has played 18 times in the league for the Turkish side this season, despite seeing red on his debut for the club at the start of the campiagn.
