Mohamed Drager issues update in race to seal Nottingham Forest transfer

Olympiacos defender Mohamed Drager has issued an update on his impending move to Nottingham Forest.

The right-back posted on his Instagram story of him sat on a plane with his next destination set to be the City Ground.

Forest are eager to wrap up a deal for the Tunisian international who will be a replacement for Jordan Gabriel who sealed a move to Blackpool for £700,000 today (Tuesday).

It remains unclear whether Drager's move will be a permanent or a loan switch but he faces a race against time to complete the move ahead of the 11pm deadline.

Olympiacos paid around £1m for the defender's services in 2020, but has now been deemed surplus to requirements.

The move has been helped by the fact that Evangelos Marinakis owns both Forest and Olympiacos.

Links to Drager first appeared in March when Sportdog reported Drager had become third choice right-back at Olympiacos.

Should a transfer go ahead, it wouldn’t be the first time that a player has moved between the clubs.

Last season, midfielder Cafu has joined Forest on loan from Olympiacos with Tiago Silva going in the opposite direction.

A deal for Drager is expected to be part of what will be a busy deadline day at the City Ground with deals for Josh Maja and midfielder Braian Ojeda also in the pipeline.
