Mohamed Buya Turay's agent in Rangers transfer admission as race heats up for striker

The agent of Mohamed Buya Turay isn't ruling out anything for his client but has stopped short of predicting a transfer exit.

The Sierra Leone international was named by Record Sport as a player Rangers could target to replace Alfredo Morelos if he leaves during the next window.

While it wasn't suggested that Steven Gerrard and the hierarchy at Ibrox are actively tracking Sint-Truden's Turay - it seems our suggestion has been enough to spark rumours in Sweden.

The 25-year-old's agent has been quizzed on the possibility of a move to Rangers, and though he remained coy on the subject, he's not ruling anything out.

Numukeh Tunkara told Expressen : "The interest in Buya Turay has been big and there has been a lot of speculation, but right now he belongs to Sint-Truiden and whatever happens this summer we must talk about it then.

"It is difficult to comment on rumors and speculation. Right now he belongs to Sint-Truiden, I do not want to comment on any rumors whatsoever. It is neither good for the club nor the player's career.

"There has been a lot of interest from many clubs. The interest is huge and everyone knows that Buya Turay is a fantastic player who works hard.

"There have been many interested clubs but we'll see what happens in the summer.

"Right now the situation is tricky in general considering the coronavirus which has affected the world and football severely."
