Violent Femmes’ Brian Ritchie has curated an assortment of old and new for the 2016 Mofo festival. Headlined by American psychedelic rock band The Flaming Lips, the Hobart festival will feature more than 300 artists, musicians and performers from around the world.
Kate Miller-Heidke will debut new work with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, Mats Gustafsson will build a sonic conflagration on the main Mona stage, and the State Theatre Company of South Australia will present a Samuel Beckett Triptych, among other highlights.
The festival will run alongside the major retrospective Gilbert & George: The Art Exhibition, Mathieu Briand’s ongoing Et In Libertalia Vol II, and Katthy Cavaliere: Loved.
