Moffat RFC field first all girls' team at Dumfries Regional Girls Rugby Festival

Moffat RFC fielded their first all girls’ team at the Dumfries Regional Girls Rugby Festival on Sunday.

The newly formed U14 team started training after the second lockdown when development officer Cammy Little put on a block of come and try sessions at the club

On the day, the team coached by Laura McCormick and Cammy and Rhona Robison, won three out of their four games including a 9-0 win over Ayr.

Coach Laura was overwhelmed with their performance at their first ever festival/match and praised the players for working as a team.

Training continues on Wednesday evenings 6.30 to 8.00pm at The Holm Moffat RFC.

This Saturday the senior team final get to open their 2021/22 season with a home fixture against Cowal RFC, kicking off at 3pm. There will be a licensed bar and BBQ on throughout and the 2019/20 season awards will also be presented.
