Moffat drive-in movie weekend postponed due to coronavirus travel restrictions

Covid travel restrictions means Moffat won’t be going to the movies as planned this weekend.

Robert Brothers and Nicky Grady had been set to host the first ever drive-in movie weekend at The Green Frog, Hammerlands, instead of a community bonfire and fireworks.

But this week they had to postpone until December.

They couple were hiring a giant screen so that families could watch a choice of films on Friday and Saturday from their cars.

However, they said yesterday: “We have just been notified that the event will not go ahead this weekend due to lockdown restrictions. We are not cancelling, only postponing until December 11 and 12.

“There are a couple of movie changes for Christmas now too. Please call into the shop or phone for a movie change or refund.”

The Christmas event will be ticketed only and they have to be bought in advance at The Green Frog for each film chosen from a list, at a cost of £25 per car – which can have up to five people inside.

All the cars will be parked on the car park with the movie-goers watching from inside.
