"Modi ji you have caused immense price rise": 6 year old writes to PM Modi on maggie, pencil getting costlier; letter goes viral

While debates and discussions on price rise are resonating everywhere--from tea stalls to the Parliament-- a six year old's letter to the Prime Minister of the country has caught everyone's attention.

The letter written in the 6 year old's handwriting tells us how severe the price rise is.

The 6 lined letter, which seems to be written on a piece of paper torn from a class notebook, has caused a stir over the internet.

"My name is Kriti Dubey. I study in class 1. Modiji, you have caused an immense price rise. Even my Pencil and rubber (eraser) have got costlier and the price of Maggi has been increased, too. Now my mother beats me for asking for a pencil. What shall I do? Other kids steal my pencil," reads the letter.

Reportedly, the girl is from Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh.

The letter seems to have become another arrow in the quiver of the opposition.

The TRS Party founded by KCR in 2001 has sought an answer from the PM on this. ""Modi Ji, you have caused an immense price rise. My pencil and rubber (eraser) have got costlier. Now my mother beats me for asking for a pencil. What Shall I do?" - Six-year-old Kriti Dubey @Narendramodi Ji, Dare to answer?," reads a tweet from the official Twitter handle of the party.

NCP leader and MP from Baramati Lok Sabha Constituency, Maharashtra, Supriya Sule spoke about the little girl's letter in the Parliament. "Drew attention of the house to the far reaching impact of price rise and the open letter written by a 6-year old Kriti Dubey from Uttar Pradesh on price rise of pencils and maggi," she has tweeted.

This letter is a gentle but stark eye opener for each one of us. Though we, as adults, feel that issues like price rise and inflation only hurts those who run the households, the fact is it affects everyone in the family equally; small or big, adult or kid, young or old, doesn't matter.

This also draws our attention towards how our behaviour within the household changes during price rise and how it subsequently affects the young kids in the house. In a typical middle class household, which solely relies on a single person’s salary, price rise hits most severely. Due to the rising price of essential commodities, the family cuts down the expenditure. Things that are essential to the family are limited and young kids who are usually clueless to these so called “adult-decisions” either complain or else endure it.

Kids are always taught to limit their demands and wants when the family finds it difficult to make ends meet.

This young girl’s letter is a reminder of the childhood of each and everyone who belonged to a middle class family.
