Details have finally emerged about what will surely be the hottest TV event of the forthcoming Christmas season. Yes, that's right, the one-off special edition of To The Manor Born, 26 years after the BBC sitcom ended. Audrey fforbes-Hamilton and Richard De Vere - played by 67-year-old Penelope Keith and Peter Bowles, 71 - are preparing to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary. But "a major event" threatens to disturb life in rural Somerset, and Audrey must fight "to defend a community, safeguard 400 years of history and save her marriage", according to the BBC. Gosh, what could possibly be that apocalyptic? Let's just hope she hasn't brought Mark Thompson in to manage the estate.
