'Modern football!' Some fans can't believe #LampardOut is trending on Twitter after Chelsea draw

It has not been the ideal start to Frank Lampard's time in charge at Chelsea, with no wins in his first three games as the Blues' head coach.

The Chelsea legend has overseen three matches from the dugout in the new season, with the Blues' winless run continuing today (Sunday) as they drew 1-1 at home with Leicester City, with Wilfred Ndidi scoring in the second half to earn a share of the spoils at Stamford Bridge after Mason Mount's opener.

It means that Chelsea now have just one point from their opening two matches in the Premier League this season, having lost 4-0 against Manchester United on the opening weekend.

Chelsea also lost out on penalties against Liverpool in the UEFA Super Cup in midweek, having drawn 2-2 with the Champions League winners after extra time.

But while there is understandably some disappointment among Chelsea fans that the Blues are yet to record a victory in the 2019/20 campaign, some fans are in disbelief this evening (Sunday) that the hashtag #LampardOut is trending on social networking website Twitter.

The key dates in the Premier League 2019/20 season

According to Twitter, the hashtag has been trending in the United Kingdom this evening following Chelsea's 1-1 draw with the Foxes, which has prompted a reaction from Chelsea supporters and rival fans as well.

This is not the first time the hashtag has been trending on Twitter, after it also spiked after Chelsea drew 1-1 with Irish side Bohemians in Lampard's first game in charge in pre-season, and again after the friendly with Japanese side Kawasaki Frontale, which the Blues lost 1-0.

But many fans are in shock that the Chelsea legend could even be facing criticism so early on in his tenure, having come in as head coach with the club subject to a transfer ban this summer.

Here's what some fans have been saying on Twitter about the hashtag.
