Modern Family's Luke Dunphy unrecognisable after dramatic transformation

Modern Family's Luke Dunphy is all grown up.

After playing the cheeky character in the US-sitcom for 11 years, 22-year-old actor Nolan Gould is ready to take his career in another direction - and getting fit is a major part of the process.

With plenty of downtime over the last year due to being unemployed during the coronavirus pandemic, Nolan found it hard to find a reason to get up in the morning and stay motivated.

But after six months of "basically being on vacation", Nolan felt like it was time to make a decision on where he wants to take his career.

So he changed his outlook on both his body and his mindset.

Speaking to People, he said: "I’ve been working out an hour-and-a-half every day with my friend Michael who is a personal trainer.

"We have a really cool socially-distant setup that has allowed me to get fit while also being safe. It's been nice.

"Especially being unemployed in quarantine, having a reason to get up and stay motivated. It's been something that's been very healthy and positive for me in quarantine. It's really changed my outlook."

With all the extra time on his hands, Nolan said he often splits his workout up throughout the day.

He'll do an hour of strength training, then do core and 30 minutes of cardio later on.

The actor then went on to say how much his diet has also changed too.

It now consists of a lot of lean protein, vegetables, less fizzy drinks and no alcohol at all - which he says has been the biggest change for him.

Since embracing his new lifestyle, he said: "I feel more clear-headed and have been doing as much writing as possible, being in acting class, taking all the steps I can so when the pandemic’s finally over, hopefully, I’ll just be ready to go to work."
